Edinburgh Monarchs earned two valuable points in their bid to secure a play-off place.

But they let slip a four-point lead going into the final race to draw 45-45 at lowly Sheffield Tigers.

Richie Worrall, a former Glasgow Tigers rider, and Joel Andersson earned a 5-1 in the second last race to hand the visitors a 44-40 advantage.

But gutsy Tigers stayed cool to collect a 5-1 in the final heat thanks to captain Kyle Howarth and Charles Wright with Worrall third and Ricky Wells in last place.

Howarth, a former Edinburgh rider, top scored for struggling Tigers with 13 points with Wright next best on ten points.

Andersson was the joint top rider for Monarchs with nine points, the same as Ricky Wells.
