Coffee roasters move into Waverley Mall
Independent coffee roasters Williams & Johnson have moved into Waverley Mall, placing them right in the city centre. The company began life in Leith in 2016 with their flagship café in Custom Lane.
Zach and Todd, owners of Williams & Johnson Coffee Co. said : “The opportunity presented by Waverley Mall was one not to be missed. The location is perfect, right in the heart of Edinburgh – ideal to reach new customers who share our passion for great coffee and are looking for something that little bit unique and special.”
Williams & Johnson has opened its doors at the Princes Street entrance to Waverley Mall, adjacent to The Balmoral. The centre has plans over the coming months, with mall owners Moorgarth proposing significant changes to both the internal and external of the building.
A new market-style piazza is planned for the roof space, with the interior set to undergo a major overhaul to give a new fresh and modern look.
Jacquelyn Stewart, Centre Manager, Waverley Mall said : “Having Williams & Johnson Coffee Co. on board sees the start of very exciting times for Waverley Mall. There are some incredible local businesses in Edinburgh so it was important for us to bring this unique local talent to the centre. This is something you will see a lot more of as we continue to evolve and showcase all things Edinburgh.”
Daryll Bunce from Hare & Store who acted on behalf of the mall’s owners Moorgarth, added : “By bringing an independent Edinburgh retailer to the centre of city’s shopping scene, Waverley Mall is making a real statement. A strong mix of relevant brands that create an authentic shopping experience is the future of retail and I have no doubt that Williams & Johnson will be a great addition to not just the mall, but also this prominent central location.”
