Sophie Duns who will manage the North Berwick office

Property company Coulters are expanding into East Lothian and are looking at potential opportunities in the Borders, Glasgow, Fife and Perthshire.

The award-winning agency is now in the Lighthouse Unit, 2 Heugh Road, North Berwick, and Sophie Duns will manage the office.

Margaret McPherson, executive chairman, expects to see 35 per cent growth this year and revealed that the board would consider acquiring other businesses.

She said: “We are open to opportunities for mergers and acquisitions.

“We have ambitious plans for growth and with the new management team in place we are in a great place to achieve it.”
