Hibs pay tribute to former company secretary Cecil Graham

Former Hibs’ secretary Cecil Graham has died.

The sad news was announced on the club website earlier today.

Hibs’ fans have taken to social media to send their condolences.

Cecil’s tenure spanned the glory days of the Turnbull’s Tornadoes and he was at the club during the attempted take over by Wallace Mercer.

A statement on the club website reads: “Hibernian Football Club are saddened to learn of the passing of former Company Secretary, Cecil Graham.

“Cecil joined the Club in July 1971 and gave 25 years of dedicated service to Hibernian, working alongside some iconic figures such as Eddie Turnbull, Alex Miller and Pat Stanton.

“The all-encompassing role of Company Secretary saw Cecil take on jobs such as dealing with the media, arranging pre-season tours abroad and everything in-between.

“Cecil stood down from his position in July 1996 after a quarter of a century as an exemplary employee at the Club.

“Everyone at Hibernian Football Club sends our condolences to Cecil’s family and friends at this difficult time.”
