Captain Kyle Coetzer will play his 50th one day international when Scotland host England (start 11am) at The Grange, Edinburgh, on Sunday.

It’s a special day personally for the Aberdeen-born batsman but also a special day for Cricket Scotland.

The 34-year-old former Aberdeen Grammar School pupil believes the England team is the strongest opposition Scotland have ever faced.

And his men aim to beat England for the first time in an official international.

Coetzer said: “It’s going to be an unreal occasion for our guys and everyone involved. They’ve got some quality cricketers and they’ve a strong team.”

And he added: “Our guys are raring to go and we expect a great atmosphere.”
