Lowland League side Civil Service Strollers have appointed Gary Jardine as their first team manager.
Jardine took Edinburgh City from the Lowland League to SPFL status and is one of the most experienced managers in Scotland. He takes over from Alex Cunningham who will take a position on the club’s committee. Cunningham signed off by leading Strollers to the South Challenge Cup last Sunday.
Jardine has been helping out at Strollers for the last few weeks and he was delighted to be appointed the club’s manager.
“Since joining at the turn of the year I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Civil Service Strollers,” said Jardine.
“It’s important for me to enjoy my football and the way I’ve been welcomed by all at the Strollers and the desire and hunger that the players have shown to take on new ideas and adapt to my way of coaching has given me the appetite to take up the reigns from Alex.
“Alex is a fantastic person and with his support we can continue to improve as a club build on the successes of this season.”
