Real ale festival comes to Edinburgh
Joe Crawford promises a showcase for 170 Scottish real ales, cider and perry when the 2018 Scottish Real Ale Festival comes to Edinburgh in July.
It’s at The Corn Exchange, Slateford, from Thursday, July 5 to Saturday, July 7 from noon until 10,.30pm. The Saturday session closes at 9.30pm.
Nicholson’s are the principal sponsor of the event run by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Admission is £6 (£4 for CAMRA members) and Joe explained that the venue is easy to reach by train – one stop from Haymarket Station – or by a 4, 20, 34, 44 or 300 bus.
Get off at the busy ASDA bus stop at the foot of the stairs leading from Slateford Station and it is a short walk.
There will be traditional Scottish pub food but no entertainment. The organisers consider festivalgoers want to savour their beer and chat rather than have a band.
