Speedway – Brown calls for fans to get behind Tigers
Glasgow’s new team manager insists he’s up for the challenge of leading Tigers into the 2018 season despite his shock at being thrust into the hotseat.
Cami Brown has taken the reins at Ashfield after long-term boss Stewart Dickson stood down from his role this week.
The call informing him about Dickson’s departure wasn’t one Brown was expecting or wanting.
But Brown now has his focus firmly on Friday’s Scottish Cup second-leg at Edinburgh Monarchs (tapes-up 7.30pm).
And he insists it is crucial that Tigers successfully defend their ten-point lead.
Brown said: “We’ve got a good backroom team in place and a chain of people to help at all levels. Nothing has really changed, we’re still going with the same plan.”
He insists the club comes first and wants Tigers to be successful and added: “I completely understand some fans’ sadness at seeing Stewart go, but it’s not about me, it’s about the club and the team.”
