Braehead Clanā€™s play-off hopes ended after a 3-1 defeat at Guildford Flames.

Jacob Doty opened the scoring after 11 minutes for the visitors but Charles Wells levelled two minutes later and John Dunbar fired Flames ahead less than three minutes after that.

Kruise Reddick completed the scoring after 32 minutes.

Elsewhere, their only rivals for the eighth and final play-off place, Coventry Blaze, turned the form book upside down when they won 7-4 at second-placed Manchester Storm.

Former Fife Flyers star Ryan Dingle netted a glory treble as the Midlands side stormed to their fifth straight win.

Fife Flyers ended their campaign on a downer with a 5-2 defeat at second-bottom Milton Keynes Lightning, the Scots third straight defeat.

And bottom club Edinburgh Capitals lost 11-2 at Sheffield Steelers, Eric Neiley scoring a hat-trick.

Nottingham Panthers edged Dundee Stars 4-3 on Tayside, coming from 1-0 down and turning the game with three unanswered goals to inflict a fourth straight defeat on the Scots.
