Two men, aged 18 and 19, have been arrested and charged in connection with a number of motorcycle offences across the city.

The incident was reported to police around 12.30am on Tuesday, February 27. The men were arrested in the Maybury Road area.

The pair will appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court tomorrow.

Inspector Johnny Elliot of Drylaw Police Station said:  “Motorcycle criminality is never acceptable and Edinburgh Division has taken a number of steps to tackle this behaviour through Operation Soteria.

“We continue to work with our partners in local government and the justice sector to combat this type criminality.

“However, in order to fully tackle this issue, we need the support of the Edinburgh public.  I would ask anyone with information regarding motorcycle related offending to share that information and help us rid the city of this dangerous and disruptive crime.”
