Theatre – ‘The Scottish Play’ comes to The Festival Theatre

Blood will have blood, they say…blood will have blood!

The National Theatre brings Rufus Norris’s new production of Macbeth to The Festival Theatre this Autumn, 23-27 October.

Following its sold-out London run, the National Theatre will tour Shakespeare’s most intense tragedy, Macbeth. An epic and visually daring production, it embarks on an 18-venue tour of the UK and Ireland from September 2018 – March 2019,

‘Sleep no more…’ The ruined aftermath of a bloody and very uncivil war. Ruthlessly fighting to survive, the Macbeths are thrust towards the crown by forces of elemental darkness.

Directed by NT Artistic Director Rufus Norris (Cabaret, London Road) and designed by Rae Smith (War Horse, This House) this new production propels Shakespeare’s classic title into a post-apocalyptic world of anarchy and uncertainty.

‘The Thane of Cawdor was man on whom I built an absolute trust.’
