Elite League: Edinburgh Capitals 3, Dundee Stars 6

Jimmy Jensen claimed a double as Dundee Stars wrapped up a four-point weekend thanks to a 6-3 victory at bottom club Edinburgh Capitals.

It clinched a four-game winning run for Omar Pacha’s men who now move onto 35 points from 37 fixtures in Britain’s top ice hockey league.

However, it continued the woe for Edinburgh who have only won four of their 38 league fixtures so far this term.

Elite League: Fife Flyers 3, Nottingham Panthers 2

Fife Flyers came from behind to claim victory over Nottingham Panthers.

The Kirkcaldy club also snapped a four-game losing streak thanks to a narrow 3-2 victory.

It takes Flyers onto 48 points from 34 games and kept them in third position in the 12-strong table.

The scoreline was blanked after the first session but Yan Sauve fired the visitors ahead after 37 minutes.

An Evan Bloodoff double after 41 and 47 minutes, the first on a power play after Panthers hit penalty problems, put the Scots ahead 2-1.

Back came Panthers and Mark Derlago slotted home only 16 seconds after Fife’s second but Ian Young claimed the home side’s third and the game-winner after 56 minutes.

Elite League: Manchester Storm 5, Braehead Clan 2.

Braehead Clan’s play-off hopes suffered a blow when they were edged 5-2 at Manchester Storm.

The Scots won 4-3 at Storm on Saturday but were unable to complete a double and Dundee Stars’ 6-3 win at bottom club Edinburgh Capitals moves the Tayside team to within a point of Clan.

Clan led 2-1 thanks to goals from Ryan Potulny and Flex-Antione Poulin after 27 minutes.

But Storm hit four goals between the 38th and 54th minutes, including strikes from former Clan players Matt Beca and Scott Pitt, to claim the points.
