Hibs consolidate 4th place in the table with a 1-0 win over Dundee
Hibs consolidated 4th place in the table with a 1-0 win over Dundee at Dens Park last night in a match that they dominated throughout.
The scoreline would have been more comfortable had Brandon Barker and Simon Murray converted good chances in the second half.
Head Coach Neil Lennon made two changes to the starting XI that lost the Edinburgh derby with Murray and Barker taking over from the injured Marvin Bartley and Oli Shaw, who dropped to the bench.
Despite Lennon claiming that Anthony Stokes was available for selection, the Irishman did not make the bench raising question marks about his future at the club.
In the end a John McGinn strike six minutes after the restart was enough to secure the valuable three points.
After the game Lennon told BBC Scotland:It’s a brilliant win and I think we played really well against a very good Dundee side, but they could make my life a lot easier by taking our chances.
“Some of our counter-attacking in the second half was outstanding. We nearly conceded a goal at the end but on the balance of play and chances, I thought we were fantastic.
“It was a really good reaction from Sunday. It was really important to get the win.
“We haven’t had one since Ross County at home [on 23 December] so it is a great fillip for us.
“We have mostly played well against Celtic so far this season but there are a lot of tired bodies in there.”
