Ice hockey – Capitals sign new Finnish forward

Edinburgh Capitals gave new Finnish forward Patrik Moisio his debut at Belfast Giants on Friday.

Moisio was a bronze medal winner with the Finland under-18 team in 2009-2010 and has played 86 games in the top tier of the Finnish game.

He has also iced in nine Champions Hockey League games and made his debut in the Elite League with Coventry Blaze this season.

A Capitals spokesman said: “Moisio brings a new dimension to the Capitals line-up and, as soon as the forward indicated he was available, the club moved to acquire him.”
