Free Christmas festivities take over Greater Grassmarket on Saturday

Santa and Rudolph return to the Grassmarket area for festive fun tomorrow.

On Saturday 16 December 2017 Santa and his friends will be returning to the Grassmarket for free, family-friendly Christmas festivities. Organised and facilitated by the Greater Grassmarket Business Improvement District (BID), the festive event will feature attractions including; live music, carol singing, street performances, a Christmas market
and a giant snow globe.

The giant snow globe, located in the West End of the Grassmarket under the backdrop of Edinburgh Castle, will offer visitors the chance to feature in their own miniature winter wonderland where they can take a picture worthy of the family Christmas card. There will also be performances by Elvis The Energetic Elf every hour from 1pm – 4pm inside the
giant snow globe.

Visitors can get their photographs taken in between the shows and after the final show. Photos cost £5 for two people and £10 for up to four people.

Events kick off with the Christmas market which opens from 10am – 5pm and the attractions are available from 12pm – 4pm.
