Local Edinburgh choirs are being encouraged to help spread the festive cheer by singing on the iconic steps at The Dome to support children in hospital this Christmas.

Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity (ECHC) is looking for choirs, bands and singers of all ages to apply to join them and get into the festive spirit.

Vicki Watson, Community Fundraiser at ECHC, said: ”Edinburgh gets turned into a winter wonderland during Christmas and the decorations on the steps of The Dome are synonymous to this time of year for many locals.

”The chance to sing on the steps of The Dome is truly special and there is no better way to get involved with the festivities while helping to support the work of ECHC.”

“After 150 years this is our last Christmas in the hospital and the last time that Santa stops here before we move to a new children’s hospital in 2018 and it is a chance for the community to help us to make this last Christmas really special.”

Choirs can contain up to twenty adults, this may change to accommodate certain instruments and participants are encouraged to have helpers on hand to collect donations.

Performance slots are available on all Thursdays, Fridays and weekends in December. If you are interested in applying please contact the Community Team on 0131 668 4949 or email hello@echcharity.org
