The Greater Grassmarket BID joins Book Week Scotland
Book and a Brew encourages visitors to discover a new book in the Greater
Grassmarket
The Greater Grassmarket Business Improvement District (BID) is celebrating Book Week Scotland with Book and a Brew, offering customers a free hot drink when they buy or borrow a book between 30 November and 3 December.
Anyone who buys a book in participating bookstores or borrows from the Central Library will be given a Book and a Brew voucher, entitling them to a complimentary hot drink while sitting-in at one of the Greater Grassmarket’s cafes.
Book Week Scotland is an annual celebration, taking place every November, which encourages people of all ages to share their love of books with others, through a wide variety of events across the country, some of them featuring Scotland’s authors, illustrators and poets.
Norrie Stewart, Grassmarket BID Project Manager, says: “We are delighted to be taking part in this year’s Book Week Scotland. There is nothing better than a good book with a warming hot chocolate drink and we believe that the magical atmosphere of
the Grassmarket area makes it the perfect place to escape and celebrate this wonderful event.
“Many great writers have been inspired by the Grassmarket area’s historical attractions, including J.K. Rowling who wrote some of the earlier Harry Potter books while in the area. We hope that Book and a Brew can help to engage readers, young and old, with the heritage of the Grassmarket while enjoying a new book.”
