The winner will be announced at a ceremony in Lords Cricket Ground this evening.

Deidre said:- “Congratulations to the Friends of Starbank Park for being the only Scottish group on the shortlist – and good luck this Wednesday night! It’s been a real team effort to make the park such a wonderful, vibrant green space again and it’s good to see the work being recognised.

“I’ve been to some fantastic community events in Starbank Park. It’s lovely to see this beautiful garden – which has some amazing views across the Forth – not only well loved but well used again. Everyone benefits from the efforts of both volunteers and council park staff to look after the place.

“I’m pleased to see the Chair of the Friends group, Janet McArthur and 86 year old volunteer gardener Stan Dunlop made it down to London for the awards ceremony. They’re winners whatever the result, but let’s hope they come back with the gong for Starbank! “

And in case you have time today for a bit of gardening, the Friends invite you to join them this morning.
