TYLER Scofield netted on the power play with less than three minutes left as Braehead Clan edged Elite League newcomers Guildford Flames 3-2 in Glasgow despite being outshot 22-16.

Fife Flyers’ Evan Bloodoff also slotted the game-winner after 47 minutes with an extra man as the Kirkcaldy club beat Coventry Blaze 4-3 in the Midlands.

Fife netminder Andy Iles dealt with 43 shots while Kevin Nastiuk handled only 21 for the English combine.

Bottom club Edinburgh Capitals suffered their 12th straight league defeat when they were overpowered 7-2 at league champions Cardiff Devils with Justin Faryna netting a double. Marek Tvrdon scored Capitals’ goals as they were outshot 22-12.

And injury-hit Dundee Stars beat high-flying Belfast Giants 2-0 with goals from Johan Andersson and Brian Hart to snap a two-game losing streak.
