Holders Glasgow Tigers lost their grip on the Knockout Cup when they skidded to a 95-85 aggregate defeat after their semi-final, second-leg at home to Peterborough Panthers.

The Scots, who lost the first-leg 50-40, cut the deficit to six points on aggregate with five races left.

But Panthers kept their nerve and a 5-1 in the second last heat ended the contest.

Simon Lambert and Ulrich Ostergaard combined to keep Dan Bewley in third and it was tie over.

Panthers drew 45-45 on the night but now go on to meet Ipswich Witches in the final with Glasgow left without a trophy this season.
