Saughton Road Water Mains Project Proceeding Well
The rolling programme to improve the water mains infrastructure along Saughton Road North is progressing well, with the first phase completed ahead of schedule.
Phase Two of the work to upgrade the water pipes supplying around 4,000 customers, will take place from Broomhall Avenue to the junction of Broomfield Crescent and is expected to take around four weeks.
Road users, residents and businesses in and around the area are being advised the rolling road closures are still in place. We advise drivers in the area to allow extra time for their journeys and follow all diversion signs in place.
Scott Fraser, Scottish Water’s corporate affairs regional manager, said: “The £1m project to ensure customers security of water supply, is part of a wider programme of investment from 2015-20121 which will see £29.5m of infrastructure projects across the city.
“We are continuing to work with affected residents and the local community to minimise the impact and disruption to local businesses during the project.
“Scottish Water apologises for any inconvenience and thanks affected road users in advance for their patience and understanding.”
