Man arrested following alleged assault and robbery in Dalkeith

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man for allegedly assaulting and robbing a pensioner in Dalkeith following an investigation by local CID officers.

The 69-year-old woman reportedly had her handbag stolen after being attacked by a man in St Andrews Street, on August 25.

She was left shaken but uninjured following the incident.

The man will appear at court at a later date.
