Boxing – barber McGlynn looking trim for boxing debut
Aidan McGlynn aims to prove he’s a cut above the rest when he makes his professional boxing debut at Meadowbank on Friday in Capital Collision.
By day Blackridge-based McGlynn is a barber in a Livingston business but he’s hoping to make his mark in the paid ranks between the ropes.
He fights a Bulgarian in the bumper show and McGlynn will be backed ringside by a number of his customers.
He said: “My coaches have put me through the paces and my training has been really hard. I’m really excited to being on the big show.
“A lot of customers have bought tickets and want to see what it is all about. I’m aiming to do a job on Friday. What a show to be a part of.”
McGlynn was due to start his career in the paid ranks in July but that fell through because he did not get his paper work in time.
He said: “I was gutted as I’d done my training camp I’m now down to super-welterweight and I’m feeling great.”
