Liam Heelis fired a double as Fife Flyers edged Edinburgh Capitals 5-2 in the Challenge Cup, Group B, at Kirkcaldy.

Chase Schaber, Evan Bloodoff and Danick Gauthier also scored for the home side who were 5-1 ahead at one stage.

Sergei Banashkov and Marek Tvrdon netted for the visitors.

Belfast Giants gained revenge over Dundee Stars with a 7-4 Challenge Cup, Group B, victory in Northern Ireland.

The home side led 4-0 before Stars pulled two goals back but two third-period strikes extended their lead to 7-3 and a late consolation from Joey de Concilys put a gloss on the scoresheet.

Jacob Doty provided Braehead Clan with their only joy in a 3-1 defeat at league newcomers Milton Keynes.
