Fund boost to help older people
Hundreds of older people in Scotland will benefit thanks to a £72,000 funding boost.
Bield will use the funds to provide additional services for residents, service users and their families.
They including dining out experiences for people with dementia, IT projects and social activities.
The money is from the Scottish Government’s People and Communities Fund,
Kevin Rowe, fundraiser, said: “This substantial funding opens up new possibilities to enrich the lives of so many people across our developments.
“For every older person whose quality of life improves, family, friends and carers also stand to gain immensely.”
Kevin Stewart, Minister for Housing, said: “Our People and Communities Fund enables communities and organisations to identify what matters most to them.”
Evening support services in Kirkintilloch and Falkirk, weekly exercise groups in Fife, two new projects aimed at enabling tenants and residents to make the most of new technology and garden improvements in Biggar are included.
