Fort Kinnaird recycles 100% of its waste
Just ahead of National Recycling Week, the management at Fort Kinnaird say they do not send any of their rubbish to landfill.
There is a recycling scheme for its 75 tonnes of waste each year, and any small amounts that cannot be recycled are used as a refuse derived fuel.
Lindy Watson, Deputy Centre Manager at Fort Kinnaird, said: “We are very aware of the need to ensure our carbon footprint is as low as possible. We work hard with our waste management company to ensure all our waste is ready to be recycled or reused as fuel.
“Small changes to the mind set around waste management can very quickly make a massive impact and we are proud of what we have achieved.”
The shopping and leisure centre works with recycling and resource management company William Tracy.
