Concerts, medieval science talks and evening visits are all part of the events programme at Rosslyn Chapel during October and November.

On Wednesday 4th October, RSNO assistant  leader Tamas Fejes brings his quartet to perform the  Beethoven string quartet op.18 No.6 in B flat and  the Shostakovich string quartet No.8 in C minor in the Chapel, with a glass of wine or juice after the performance.

October also sees two events as part of the Midlothian Science Festival – on 11 October, ‘Investigating Indigo’, is an interactive workshop and talk exploring the nature and creation of indigo dye, then on 16 October, ‘Spices of the Middle Ages’, will be a fascinating exploration of exotic plants from Ancient Edinburgh given by Dr Brian Moffat.

On 4 November, join Portmanteau in concert. For more than 25 years, Portmanteau’s singers have been entertaining audiences…blending humour, pathos and charm into every programme.  They return to Rosslyn for a Remembrance-themed concert.

Visitors can then enjoy the special atmosphere of an evening visit to the Chapel on 10th November, from 7pm to 9pm. Hear about its history and unique carvings from one of the Guides before finishing the
evening with a glass of wine in the visitor centre. Numbers will be restricted so advance booking is essential.

Full details of all these events are available at the Rosslyn Chapel website – www.rosslynchapel.com
