Hibs hammer Swansea to win first ever UEFA Women’s Champions League game

Hibs Ladies won their first ever UEFA Women’s Champions League game today with a fantastic 5-0 victory over Swansea City in Cluj, Romania.

Rachael Small became the first Hibs player to score in the tournament when she opened the scoring before Katey Turner added a second from close range.

Hibs dominated possession going close to adding to their lead on three occasions and had a goal ruled out for offside.

Hibs pressure paid off  as Lucy Graham drove into the Swansea box and won a penalty on 42 minutes. The midfielder fired the spot kick  into the top corner of the net to secure a 3-0 lead at the half-time break.

Siobhan Hunter made it 4-0 with a superb strike then with three minutes remain Graham capped off a fine team performance with a brilliant fifth goal.

Hibs now face  Kharkiv on Friday 25 August and Olimpia Cluj on Monday 28 August.
