Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 – The Rise and Fall of Marcus Monroe

THE RISE AND FALL OF

MARCUS MONROE

Assembly George Square Gardens
(Piccolo), 3rd – 27th August at 3pm

From the writer of Orange Is The New Black and producer of Tony Award winning Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen comes the worldwide premiere of ‘The Rise And Fall Of Marcus Monroe’ hitting the stage for the first time at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe this August.

Unique. Funny. Outstanding. Important. Rock star. Marcus Monroe – comedian, juggler, and award-winning master of quick wit and dry delivery – pours out his soul in a hysterical and heartfelt performance portraying one man’s pursuit of fame as the world’s most beloved juggler.

When Marcus takes the stage you can’t help but take notice. Hailed as ‘one of the most entertaining performers’ by the New York Times, Marcus combines innovative juggling with a high-energy original take, making him one of the most sought after variety
performers.

‘The Rise And Fall Of Marcus Monroe’ will be performed daily at 3pm throughout the Edinburgh Festival Fringe at Assembly George Square Gardens (Piccolo) from 3rd – 27th August.

Marcus Monroe is a New York City based award-winning comedian and juggler with his high-energy blend of innovative juggling and in-your-face comedic banter riddled with awkwardness. Marcus is the recipient of the prestigious Andy Kaufman Award and his many TV credits include recent appearances on The Late Show, HBO, MTV, ITV, and Netflix. The New York Times has selected Marcus’ show as a CRITIC’S PICK and calls Marcus “one of the most entertaining performers to watch in New York City.”

Internationally, Marcus starred in the Olivier Award-winning London production of La Soirée. He competed alongside TV presenter and BBC radio host Gaby Roslin in ITV’s Get Your Act Together. Marcus has performed his one-man show at the Brighton Fringe Festival.

Most recently, he has performed atthe Great American Comedy Festival, NY Comedy Festival, Bonnaroo, TEDxBroadway, and Outside Lands alongside with acclaimed performer and actor Neil Patrick Harris. He is a favourite among cruise lines, performing arts centres, comedy clubs, universities and festivals across the United States and beyond.

‘The Rise And Fall Of Marcus Monroe’ is produced by Eva Price, directed by Andrew Neisler and co-written by Marcus Monroe and Josh Koenigsberg, with set & props design by Carolyn Mraz and video design by Caite Hevner.
