Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2017 – DESCENT

DESCENT, by Scottish playwright Linda Duncan McLaughlin, is set to make its Fringe debut at Gilded Balloon’s spanking new venue, the Rose Theatre.

50-somethings Rob and Cathy are looking forward to reclaiming their own lives now daughter Nicola is grown-up and settled.  But looming over them is a threat that might blow their future apart.

DESCENT explores what happens as they try to keep their relationship – and themselves – together in the face of early onset dementia.  The play doesn’t shrink from the heartache they face; but it also celebrates the love, the courage, the humanity – and even the humour – they bring to the fight.

Nominated for Best New Play at the CATS Awards and acclaimed by critics and audiences alike, the play comes fresh from a Scotland-wide tour.
