Glasgow have 39 points from 16 matches and have three matches in hand over Monarchs, their arch rivals.
They moved above Ipswich Witches into second spot despite former Ashfield favourite Josh Grajczonek collecting 13 points for the visitors.
The home side got into gear from the off, winning the first heat 4-2 and the second race 5-1 for a 9-3 lead.
Two 4-2 scorelines followed and they were 17-7 ahead after Heat Four.
A 5-1 in the tenth race courtesy of Lawson and Nike Lunna handed Glasgow a 41-21 lead and there was no way back.
