Motorsport – Emily goes to grid aiming for glory
Emily Glanvill makes her Scottish Mini Cooper Cup Championship debut this weekend in her Mini Emilia.
She won last year’s Junior Saloon Car Championship scholarship and now joins one of Britain’s most competitive fields for three races at Fife’s Knockhill Circuit.
Moving from the Saxo to the Mini is a big step for the Penicuik-based racer.
Emily said: “I have taken the time to test in the car properly so I will be going into my first meeting feeling well-prepared.
“I have adjusted to the feel of my new race car over the last few months and am happy with how it is handling.
“I am also feel physically ready for this new challenge. I’ve been working hard in the gym and am making changes to my diet to ensure that my body is in the best place to perform on raceday.”
She admitted that finding cash has been her biggest challenge to date and she added: “I’m proud to be surrounded by such a strong and passionate team of people. “
