Motorbike safety campaign targets East Lothian roads
Police Scotland carried out a weekend of action as part of the ongoing Motorcycle Safety Campaign over the past weekend in East Lothian.
Specialist Road Policing officers, supported by local colleagues actively targeted unacceptable behaviour by all road users and associated offences.
Over the long weekend of the 26th, 27th and 28th of May officers detected six road traffic offences and issued several advisory warnings.
Community Police Inspector Andy Hill, based at Haddington Police Station, said: “The warm weather obviously brings an increase in motorcycle use.
“Unfortunately, a small number of motorcyclists continue to ride in an inconsiderate, and at times, dangerous manner.
“We often receive complaints with excessive speeding being one of the main points of focus.
“Police Scotland will continue to target inconsiderate and dangerous riders and drivers throughout the summer months, using all available resources and tactics at our disposal to maximise road safety.”
