Rush to buy tickets for play brick exhibition

A LEGO bricks exhibition has been so successful with bookings from all over Scotland and South of the Border that organisers have extended it by a month.

Brick City will run at the New Lanark World Heritage Site from 28 June to 10 September (10am to 5pm).

The models are a celebration of some of the world’s favourite buildings and urban icons including the Colosseum in Rome, St Pancras Station in London and L’Arc De Triomphe in Paris recreated solely using LEGO Bricks and designed by Warren Elsmore, a professional LEGO Brick artist.

Over 60 models made from an estimated half-a-million LEGO Bricks will be on display.

There will also be a self-led play area’ where visitors can build their own creations.

Visitors can also book to take part in one of the LEGO® Robotics Workshops using the latest LEGO robotics technology to build and program creatures that can move using motors, gears and wheels.

Participants will learn how to program sensors to make the robot react to its surroundings. Using laptops connected to the LEGO kits they will program robot birds to chirp, crocodiles to snap and aircraft engines to rev.

Brick City tickets are available via the website or from the Visitor Centre reception desk which is open 10am to 5pm, seven days a week.
