QMU students to stage open-air Shakespeare production
Performing arts students from Queen Margaret University (QMU) will be performing a refreshing open-air production of Shakespeare’s ”As You Like It” from 6-10 June 2017.
Over forty students from QMU’s arts programmes will work with staff to create an enjoyable evening of theatre.
Performances will be open to the public, and a dress rehearsal on the morning of June 6th will welcome children from local Musselburgh schools for a free performance and workshop. The play will initially be formed at QMU’s campus, but will be transferred to the scenic Dunbar’s Close Gardens on the Royal Mile.
The production is directed and designed by the University’s award winning team of Kate Nelson, Sarah Paulley and Polly Lister. It also includes the talents of Jeremy Devlin-Thorp, a music student at QMU.
Audience members are encouraged to bring along a picnic dinner and light refreshments will be available. The play will be performed regardless of weather, so audiences are also encouraged to be prepared in case of rain.
