KELBURNE Bromac coach Gordon Shepherd saluted his squad who came from behind to snatch their 13th Division One title.
The Dundonian admitted that he did not expect Edinburgh-based league pace-setters Grange to slip up but they lost 3-2 at home to Western Wildcats, Kelburne’s arch rivals, after being 2-0 ahead.
Shepherd’s men then comfortably disposed of Edinburgh University 2-0 at Peffermill and Shepherd said: “When I woke up this morning I didn’t expect this.
“Before the game we talked about preparing for next week when we play in the Scottish Cup Final.
“I didn’t think that Grange would slip up and but there was no way we could hide the score from the players.
“Just before they stepped on the pitch they found out what they had to do and they controlled the game totally.”
Ben Peterson in the first-half and Lee Morton converted in the second-half to wrap up the title.

Across town, Grange coach Davie Knipe and his squad admitted the 3-2 defeat by Western was hard to take.
He added: “They played a really good game and we made mistakes.”
Dom Wilde and Todd Mills fired Grange, who last won the league in 2002, ahead but a double from Adam MacKenzie and a single from Roshan Anderson saw them spoil Grange’s party.
Meanwhile, Edinburgh University women were crowned Division One champions for the third time in four years after a 6-1 win over city rivals Watsonians with Amy Brodie netting a treble .
