Grange have knocked defending champions Bromac Kelburne out of pole position in men’s Division One.
A six-point weekend took them to the summit thanks to back-to-back weekend wins over improved Uddingston Deans Eng and Edinburgh University.
Saturday’s 5-3 success at Fettes was followed by a 2-1 victory over misfiring but injury-hit Edinburgh University.
Todd Mills edged the Edinburgh side ahead and Joe Waterston made it 2-0 before the break.
Michael Johnson pulled one back for the students after good build-up but they could not find the equaliser.
Grange now have 40 points from 15 games and are one ahead of long-time leaders Bromac Kelburne who have played the same number of fixtures.
The West of Scotland club, who are the defending champions, suffered a shock 2-1 defeat at home to improved Uddingston Deans Eng earlier yesterday.
Meanwhile, Watsonians, who edged Edinburgh University 2-1 at Peffermill on Friday, could not make it a maximum points weekend.
They were thrashed 6-0 at home to Western Wildcats in a game coach Mike Leonard described as “massive” for the club in their bid to say in the top flight.
Watsonians are sixth with 17 points from 15 games while Edinburgh University have slipped to seventh and into the drop zone with 15 points from the same number of games.
