World League, third and fourth place play-off: men: Scotland 4, Wales 0 (in Belfast)

Scotland men claimed third place in the World League 2 tournament in Belfast.

They finally subdued Wales with two goals in one, second-half minute.

Earlier, Wei Adams (Canterbury) netted the opener in 23 minutes.

Gavin Byers of Dundee-based Grove Menzieshill collected the second after 42 minutes.

Adams scored his second from another penalty corner after 54 minutes and a former Ireland international at under-21 level, Ben Cosgrove (Grove Menzieshill), a dentistry student at the University of Dundee, converted a field goal seconds to put the issue beyond doubt.

However, only the top two qualify for World League 3 and remain in with a chance of competing in the Hockey World Cup.
