Women’s basketball – Pride seek first win when Northumbria come calling
Caledonia Pride entertain Team Northumbria at The Oriam on Saturday (tip-off 1pm) and the English side include two high-scoring players in their line-up.
Alison Gorreu has scored 161 points so far this term and Chloe Bully 137 and they will undoubtedly be dangers to Pride.
Scotland’s first professional women’s basketball team are seeking their opening win in their inaugural season.
They come into the game after losing 72-47 at Nottingham Wildcats and Pride currently sit in ninth place in the Women’s British Basketball League after nine games.
They have scored 447 points and shipped 688 while Team Northumbria are seventh om the table having won four and lost five of their fixtures. They have, however, scored 602 points and let in 581.
Pride head coach Bart Sengers has been working the squad hard this week in training and must see this as a chance to claim a first victory.
