Refunds available to Hibs’ fans wrongly refused entry to Tynecastle
Hibs have been in contact with Hearts in relation to a small number of supporters who were unable to gain entry to Sunday’s match between the teams at Tynecastle.
The Hibs’ board understands that a statement suggesting to fans that they would not be able to gain entry was read out prematurely and in error by a steward. This resulted in a number of fans making the decision to leave the area without gaining access to the match.
Others were told, correctly, that the stadium was approaching capacity and that small numbers were being taken in at a time for safety reasons, causing a delay but allowing supporters entry.
The clubs have agreed that those supporters who were inadvertently misinformed, and who have retained an unused valid match-day ticket, should make themselves known to the Hibs’ ticket office.
The tickets will be cross-checked with Hearts, and refunds will be issued.
Supporters should contact (tickets@hibernianfc.co.uk) in the first instance to start the process.
Both clubs regret that some supporters were unable to gain entry, despite having a valid ticket.
