Ice hockey – Dobron remains confident of play-off slot
Edinburgh Capitals are gearing up for a massive basement clash when they travel to Tayside on Friday to face Dundee Stars.
Both teams are at the wrong end of the ten-strong Elite League table with the Murrayfield men propping up the division.
So far, Dundee has been an unhappy rink for Capitals this season, losing 10-3 and 6-0.
And they desperately needs the points as Stars are five points ahead with 28 points but Capitals have played 36 fixtures and have two games in hand.
Both are also chasing Coventry Blaze who occupy the eighth and final play-off position.
They have 31 points from 38 starts and have lost their last two league fixtures.
Michal Dobron, Capitals’ player/coach, knows he is in a dogfight but is convinced his men have what it takes to make the top eight and qualify for the end-of-season showdown.
