Hockey – Grange close the gap

EDINBURGH side Grange closed the gap on Division One pace-setters Bromac Kelburne to two points yesterday thanks to a 4-1 win at Western Wildcats.

Grange led 2-0 at the break and ran out 4-1 winners, Western scoring their consolation late on.

Andrew Brogdon, one of Grange’s coaching team, said he was pleased with the performance, particularly as this was the club’s first game back after the winter shutdown.

The club now have 22 points from eight fixtures while Kelburne have 24 points from nine games and Brogdon added: “We played our best hockey in the first-half but were not as consistent in the second-half.”

Scottish international Cammy Fraser, Todd Mills, Luke Cranney and Dom Wild with a penalty flick scored for Grange who now prepare to meet Kelburne on Saturday in a crunch clash in Glasgow.
