Third man charged following disturbance which led to death of Shaun Woodburn
A third man has been charged in connection with the disturbance which broke out on Great Junction Street, Leith, Edinburgh, in the early hours new year’s day and culminated in the death of Shaun Woodburn.
The 31-year-old was charged with being in possession of an offensive weapon during the disturbance but this is not believed to have been connected with Mr Woodburn’s death.
A 16-year-old boy who cannot be named for legal reasons, has appeared in court charged with murder whilst 18-year-old Mohammed Zakariyah has been charged with assault to injury and an offence under the Criminal Justice Licensing (Scotland) Act.
A police spokesman said: “A 31-year-old man was charged with possession of an offensive weapon following an incident on Great Junction Street in Edinburgh on January 1.
