Otso Virtanen joins Finnish side KuPS Kuopio FC
Otso Virtanen has left Hibs to join Finnish side KuPS Kuopio Football Club.
Alan Stubbs signed the 22 year old last season.
He made his debut as a substitute in the Club’s William Hill Scottish Cup Quarter Final win over Inverness Caledonian Thistle, coming on for Mark Oxley who lost a contact lens near the end of the game.
Stubbs then signed Conrad Logan who took over as first choice keeper.
Neil Lennon has since signed Ross Laidlaw and Ofir Marciano leaving Virtanen as third choice.
He made one competitive start, the 1-0 defeat to Brondby in July’s UEFA Europa League qualifier.
KuPS play in the Finnish Premier Division.
They have won the Finnish championship 5 times, the Finish Cup 2 times and the Finnish League Cup once.
The team is placed fourth in the all-time Finnish premier league honour table.[1]
A club spokesman said: “Everyone at Hibernian FC would like to wish Otso well in his future career.”
