Celebrate Robert Burns in Red Red Rose Street
A new festival has hit the streets this week – or Rose Street to be precise.
Unique Events are behind the latest music and poetry celebration of our National Bard’s work in the week marking his birthday.
Tonight 24 January 2017 there is an event at three venues, The Rosehip, Element and Patisserie Valerie featuring music, storytelling and poetry. From 7pm till 10pm you can immerse yourself in Beletherin’ Burns.
On Wednesday 25 January, the date when Burns was born, there will be local musicians all the way along Rose Street between 12noon and 4pm and then again from 6pm till 8pm.
Entertaining audiences with free performances are traditional Scottish musicians: Tina Avery, Richard Jenkins, Calum Baird, Aaron Wright, Puddin n Mash, Euan Fleming, Erin & Briony and Greg Aiken.
Baby Burns on 25 January will encourage your little darlings to sing and create music at an unticketed free event at The Rosehip 43 Rose Street. Drop in at 10am and 11am.

On Thursday 26 January 2017 Side Burns will include storytelling by some of Scotland’s finest stand-up comedians at The Amber Rose, Milnes and 1780.
On Friday 27 January you can follow the Bairns Burns Trail from 1pm to 5pm. You pick up a guide at Burns Bothy at 116b Rose Street and set off to find out more about Burns on the way along Rose Street.
All of these events are being provided with the support of Essential Edinburgh in the heart of the New Town.This year is the year of History, Heritage and Archaeology as well as being the 250th anniversary of the New Town being designed. The events will celebrate Burns connection with the capital.
