There has been an increasing interest in recent times in the work of Joan Eardley who is reckoned to be one of the greatest British post war artists. Next month at The Scottish Gallery they will be showing some of her work and it will be on sale. Prices will range from £5,000 to £115,000, so even if you can’t afford to buy the more expensive paintings you will have the opportunity of seeing them!

Joan Eardley is known for her Glasgow street children portraits and landscapes from the north-east of Scotland. Some of the paintings included in this exhibition have been owned by the Eardley family since her death in 1963.

As well as work by Eardley the exhibition also features work by Glasgow School of Art graduate Geoff Uglow who is having his fourth solo exhibition at the Dundas Street gallery.

His are large oil paintings inspired by his Devon rose garden. Tommy Zyw of The Scottish Gallery believes him to be ‘one of the most exciting artists working in the UK today’.
