A police investigation is underway after a 19-year-old man died when his Renault Clio car collided with a road barrier on the Edinburgh city bypass between Sheriffhall and Dalkeith junction at around 11.35pm last night.

The road was closed for six hours to allow police to carry out enquiries.
Sergeant Andy Miller from the Road Policing Unit said: “Sadly this collision resulted in the death of a young man and our sympathies are with his family and friends at this time.
“In addition, anyone with any further information relevant to this investigation should also get in touch.”
