Prolific Edinburgh housebreaker jailed for 34 months
A prolific housebreaker has been sentenced to 34 months in prison after targeting homes in Edinburgh.
Delroy McPhillips appeared before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Tuesday, December 20th, having pled guilty to breaking into three homes in the Ravelston and Polwarth areas in late August.
The 40-year-old was quickly traced by detectives as part of Operation RAC.
Detective Inspector Graham Grant of Edinburgh CID said: “Housebreaking remains a priority for the Edinburgh division and through Operation RAC we have successfully brought a number of criminals before the courts.
“The custodial sentence handed down to Delroy McPhillips ensures that he has been taken off our streets and is no longer a threat to homeowners in this city.
“We’re well aware of the devastating impact housebreaking can have on a community and we will continue to work closely with our colleagues at the Crown Office to secure significant sentences for anyone involved in this criminal activity.”
