Police appeal to trace two women following Rose Street disturbance

Police are appealing for witnesses following a disturbance outside the Rose Street Brewery bar in Rose Street which took place around 9.30pm on Friday night.

A 33-year-old woman and a 23-year-old man were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries however both were later released.

Two men, aged 36 and 28, have been charged as part of the ongoing investigation into this matter.

Officers are now keen to trace two women who were seen in the area.

The first is described as white, around 5ft 8ins tall, in her early 20’s, has long blonde hair and wore a white jacket, black trousers and a grey Christmas jumper, which had Santa on its front.

Meanwhile, the second woman is also white, approximately 5ft 8ins tall and in her early 20’s. She wore a cream coloured jacket, jeans, black knee high boots with a zip on their side and a black shoulder bag.

Anyone who witnessed this incident or who can identify either woman is asked to come forward.

Detective Sergeant Andy MacRae of Gayfield CID said: “We know that many of the pubs and restaurants in the area were busy with people enjoying a night out or a Christmas party and I’m today urging anyone who witnessed this disturbance to contact police immediately.”
