Elite League: Edinburgh Capitals 4, Dundee Stars 3 (after sudden death overtime).
RED-HOT Russian Yevgeni Fyodorov kept his cool to slot home after 70 seconds of sudden death overtime as bottom club Edinburgh Capitals came from 3-1 down to edge Scottish rivals Dundee Stars 4-3 at Murrayfield in the Elite League.
The 36-year-old, former Los Angeles Kings draft pick was set up by good work from Jacob Johnston and Jared Staal and crashed the puck into the roof of the net past injury-hit Stars’ netminder Joe Fallon.
Earlier, Dundee led 2-0 after 31 minutes from Brett Switzer and Justin Faryna but Capitals pulled one back five minutes later when Jared Staal scored.
Stars then edged 3-1 ahead when Vinny Scarsella was allowed room to stick handle his way from behind the net through the Capitals defence to score after 37 minutes.
But Capitals roared back with two third-period goals inside two sensational minutes.
Karel Hromas scored after 48 minutes from a deflected long-range shot and Taylor MacDougall celebrated with the leveller from close in two minutes late.
The teams could not be separated in a tense finish but Fallon had to be on top form to stop Fyodorov and Hromas scored with rocket shots.
